AboutChef Robert Murphy
Whether I am cooking for intimate gatherings of friends or catering large events, culinary art is my passion. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my art for everyone to enjoy. It started for me at a very young age, learning the basics and nuances of cooking from my family. My domestic education was further enhanced at the age of fifteen when I began working in restaurants of various cuisines. For over 20 years I have been excited about sharing good food with people I've met along the way. With a culinary arts and culinary management education at the Institute of Culinary Education (formerly Peter Kumps) in New York City, my cooking style has a foundation of traditional influence and formal training mixed with cuisines from my extensive travels throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, and the spice markets of Istanbul, Turkey.
Good food shouldn't be so complicated that it loses its natural qualities. Recipes should be prepared with real ingredients from the farm to the table whenever possible. As a member of Slow Food International I'm in line with the slow-food movement. My food will be thoughtfully prepared with locally grown natural or organic food whenever possible.
I look forward to assisting you with your next dinner party or event.
